Week 9/76 Temblor!! Parte 2
This week was crazy. We got rained on! But we were still out 'knocking' doors and having lessons.
We had Chilean tacos this week, they were pretty similar to american tacos, except hard shells don't exist here and they have rice instead of beans, and corn and guacamole, and it really wasn't that similar to tacos I've had before except that they called it tacos and it was in a tortilla with meat and cheese. But it was super bueno!
We had a ward activity on Saturday in preparation for ward conference on sunday. It was so cute, they had a cute little airplane set up and everyone got a ticket to Easter Island where we played games and ate candy and learned about the gospel. But when everyone got back on the plane to go home, it crashed, and we got to dress up as angels and guide people to heaven, where they were judge for the things they did on Easter Island. It was super fun and helped everyone feel the spirit for ward conference.
Then on Saturday night when we had gotten into bed, and were falling asleep, my bed shook a little, and at first I thought it might just be hermana Hiatt shifting around on her bed, until I remembered hermana Hiatt doesn't live in my casa, so I sat up and the bed continued to shake. It was an earthquake!! I woke up my companion, and the room shook again! The relief society president came to check on us, and my companion told me that it happens all the time here and it isnt really a big deal unless it starts splitting roads open. But everyone was ok and I survived my first Chilean earthquake, it was a 6.2!
Later we were in a lessons reading the book of mormon with with a member, and we heard her cat meow at the door, she asked me to let the cat in because she had 6 kittens waiting for her in the other room, so we got to see and hold tiny little kittens!
Today is the first super sunny day, so maybe summer really is coming!
We did yoga with the presidents wife and got to see their house and have pizza and paint nails!
Chile is so much fun, everyday I feel so blessed to live in this beautiful country doing a marvelous work!
I hope you all have an amazing week this week! Send me emails, I love to hear from you!
