Week 21/76 We Didn't Start The Fire!

We moved! Finally out of the tiniest house in the mission into a very nice spacious apartment! It was a crazy day, we had 9 people, somehow, up in our tiny loft moving everything! We didn't have a fridge or a stove when we got to our new apartment and we couldn't figure out how to get hot water, but as of today all is well!!

We had intercambios the next day, there wasn't even time to enjoy our apartment together. But I got to be with hermana GarcĂa again for a day. We saw huge miracles, the first being that we found the house of a friend who canceled her baptism date. We had an idea of where she lived, so we got there, said a prayer, and started knocking doors. We had reached the end of the street and were heading back when we noticed someone standing outside. It was her mom, and she was there standing in the doorway. It was like a spotlight pointing right at her, and we new the spirit had lead us to her door. We got to talk and figured out why she had canceled her baptism and we left her and her mom with a book of Mormon and an invitation to read!

The day of intercambios I got to try a classic Chile dish called Casuela. Which is basically a chunk of corn, meat, a whole potatoes, and whatever other things you like in some broth. It was pretty good.

Unfortunately that same day we got messages from president saying there was an emergency and although we got a pretty sunset, we could see the smoke.

It only got worse from there. The smoke slowly covered all of Collao. We have to wear masks if we go out and we aren't supposed to be out for very long. I thought I wasn't going to be a covid missionary but I sure feel like it now!

They evacuated a couple missionaries closer to the fires and it's been a crazy couple of days, but we are safe and the work is still going!

We found a new amiga and she came to a baptism and to church on Sunday! She is from ecuador and wants to be baptized!

We spent the rest of the day sunday inside, calling practically every contact in our phone. But it was cool to see the miracles even though we were still in our house.

I saw the Lord's hand so much this week, and I am so grateful for the opportunity to be here serving!

I love and miss you all!!!
