Week 22/76 Baptisms, Birthdays, And Completos For Days

The birthdays just keep coming! We celebrated with an amiga on Monday, she turned 8 and is going to be baptized next sunday with her sister!

Then my companion hermana Balmaceda turned 21 on Tuesday, so we had to celebrate that as well! We ate so much
cake! The members were so excited to celebrate with us, and it was a good start to the week.

The food this week was so good! I finally tried humitas, which are basically just tamales. We ate completos like 3 times. We bought chocolate milk and berlin pastries. And we had probably 4 types of cake! Oh and I had the opportunity to try mate. Which is like tea, but it's just herbs and stuff that they pour water into and drink with a special straw, and you can add sugar if you like. It isn't great, but maybe if I just try it a few more times, or with more sugar, I might like it.

We did service this week, and are hoping to get the chance to help more with the recovery from the fires. But we actually just cleaned up a fence and found a bunch of garbage. We did see a scorpion and they found either a dead rat or cat I'm not sure which one.

We saw so many miracles this week. We found some new people who are super interested in learning more, we've been working ro reactivate some members and they are coming to church! We are planning the baptisms of Connie and Maitee and we are having super powerful lessons everyday.

I love to see people progressing and growing in the gospel. I love to share with families that they can be together forever. I love that even a 9 year old can read the book of Mormon and gain a testimony of Joseph Smith. I love being a missionary, and doing this great and marvelous work.

I know that this church is true and that this gospel blesses familes and changes lives. I know that my Heavenly Father loves me and is guiding His work everyday. I'm just glad to be a part of it, to be the instrument in His hands. I am so grateful for all of you, who read and send me emails, for all of your support, love, and prayers. I hope you have an amazing week!
