Week 33/76 You're 20?!
Unfortunately I am cutting more raw meat now more than any other time in my life.
On Tuesday we had intercambios. I guess I didn't know it at the time but me and hermana Garcia are actually the most powerful companionship and need to be together at least once every 2 months or the balance of the mission is off. We had a miraculous day in Libertador, an old guy told me I could get rid of my acne by using my own earwax, so if anyone wants to or needs to do a science experiment, just be sure to put my name in the acknowledgements! Then Hermana Garcia made me pancakes at the end of the day!
On wednesday we ate pizza in a park and came home to new shelves. We also helped a couple push their car and I thought it was broken, but turns out it works like a toy car that you pull back to wind it up and then it goes, so that was an interesting act of service.
On Friday I turned 20! Thank you guys for all the birthday wishes! We spent the day in a bus to Chillan for a blitz in the wind, and then in the rain, and then in a 2 hour zoom meeting. We did meet an interesting man on the bus who we are pretty sure is inactive, and thinks that the word of wisdom is only about knowledge not substances, and when he smokes it is for work and it is not a sin. It was an interesting birthday to say the least, and Hermana Condori made me my second set of pancakes this week!
On Saturday my companion's little brother got baptized and we got to watch via zoom! then on our way home we visited a member and she gave us sopaipillas, then we had a nice talk with one of her husband's friends and turns out he's a punto rojo in our area book, which means we aren't supposed to contact them, oops.
We walked a lot on Sunday to get to lunch, we saw some dogs with scarves, and then helped chop wood after lunch. We ended our day visiting our friend Valentina, and her sister Renata served us empanadas.
I hope you all had a great week, and if you haven't already, feel free to celebrate my birthday!
