Week 40/76 Punto Rojo, No Contactar

Woah we're halfway there, Woah livin on a prayer!
9 months as a missionary, and I can't imagine my life without all the things I have learned and lived!

This week feels like a blur.
A little backstory.

We met Jorge in April in the house of a member. He did a little bible bashing, and we could tell he wasn't interested. We looked in our list of people and found that he was marked red.

There are different colors with different meanings, blue for member or convert, yellow for interested, green for progressing, gray for not interested, and red for do not contact. So of course we didn't continue contacting Jorge.

To our surprise we saw him at church on Sunday. And every Sunday. He has been coming to church for over a year to support his friend Natali. 2 weeks ago we heard from Natali and the elders quorum president that Jorge wanted to be baptized. We talked with him and heard his story about how he didn't believe in the restoration or the church, but after over a year of coming to church and feeling the spirit, he couldn't deny that it was real, and he wanted to be baptized and get to the temple.

We ¨taught¨ the lesson in one week. (he already knew everything, we didn't really teach, just clarified and listened as he told us the lessons we teach other people) We organized his interview and put together his baptism.

On saturday June 17 Jorge was baptized, and the next day confirmed a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints! It was a huge miracle, and all led by the spirit! He was so happy and we were so happy to see him making this change.

That was the biggest thing that happened this week. Our other friends have stopped progressing and now we are on the lookout for new people prepared to receive the restored gospel and change their lives, look out Yungay!

I have really seen, felt, and heard the spirit this week. We had a zone conference, after what felt like forever without one, and my spirit feels refreshed.

I know that the Holy Ghost is the real missionary, I'm just the one who wears the tag. I am grateful for the chance to see the children of God finding their way back into the fold, and I know that this is where He wants us all to be.

The mission is crazy, it goes by so fast, and it's not even mine.

¨And now, as ye have begun to teach the word even so I would that ye should continue to teach; and I would that ye would be diligent and temperate in all things.¨ Alma 38:10

I have just begun to teach the word, I can't wait to see what the next 9 months brings!
