Week 59/76 Fams And Dams!!

Happy Halloween! We didn't do anything for halloween, but we did get a handful of candy from a fire fighter as we walked by the fire station, and for some reason it was more wholesome to see little Chileans running around in costumes, also it's more effective in Chile, because you can just shout "ahlo" and get all the houses on the street, instead of knocking on each door.

On Wednesday we played Jeopardy in the ward family home evening. There was only like 10 people there but we had a lot of fun!
It was also the Día de todos los Santos, and the whole road to the cemetery was full of little shops and venders. We got cotton candy, chocolate covered strawberries, and a member gifted us quartz necklaces from her shop! We also contacted lots of people!

In alma 5:14 we read "And now behold, I ask of you, my brethren of the church, have ye spiritually been born of God? Have ye received his image in your countenances? Have ye experienced this mighty change in your hearts?" Ricardo absolutely has. He has completely changed since his baptism, he is going to receive the aaronic priesthood next Sunday, and we are super feliz to see how this gospel has changed and will continue changing his life!!

After weeks and weeks of trying and coming up short, our friend Araceli came to church for the first time yesterday! She stayed for the elders baptism after the meeting, asked if she could pick who baptizes her, and on the way home said baptism is her goal. Faith really is stronger than fear!

I got to talk to my mom for her birthday on Saturday and it made my whole week! Especially because last year when I called her I had only been in Chile for 3 days, and it's fun to see how far we've both come!

Throughout the week we met various families, Elizabeth and her daughter Luz, who were very nice, but have been a little M.I.A for a few days.
Raul (I thought his name was pedro, but h. hafer says it was raul), his wife and his son, whose name is Pedro!
Carmen, Josue, and Sarai, who invited us in from the street, and said we could pass by whenever we needed anything.
And while a little black dog was playing tug of war with H. Hafers dress, we met Francisca and her son. To top it all off a recent convert, Jonathan, baptized his wife, and their sons Amaro, and Jonathan Jr. This Sunday! It was a week for the families!

Today we ventured off with our zone to an embalse (a dam)! We had a picnic and watched the elders throw around a football, then got back on the bus, and came home.

Let me know what y'all did for halloween! And have a great week!
